Free Stateroom Extras to Request
8/19/20251 min read

Did you know that you can request extras for your cabin, free of charge? Of course, different ships may not offer all extras or have the availability, so ask your room attendant as soon as possible for anything extra you may want or need.
We've never lacked for storage in our staterooms, especially when we started bringing magnetic hooks. However, the number of clothes hangers was always lacking. If you ask for extra, they'll usually be able to bring you a handful of plastic hangers for your closet.
Do you need white noise or prefer a breeze as you sleep? Ask for a fan.
Did you bring your own wine on board? Wine glasses are likely to be available.
Do you prefer your beds to be a bit more plush or to reduce that "ridge" when they're pushed together? A mattress topper may help! Extra blankets, pillows? You can ask for those too.
Would it be helpful to have an extra bar of soap or another tissue box? An ice bucket? Perhaps a bathrobe? It never hurts to ask.
Do you need a medical cooler or an extension cord for a CPAP? Request medical equipment as soon as possible, even as early as booking.
Some cruise lines will have a QR code in your room to scan for some of these requests. My advice: befriend your stateroom attendant, asap. Learn their name (and correct pronunciation), and don't make their job harder for them than necessary. They work long hours, often during odd requested times from their guests. All are incredibly accommodating and work to ensure you have everything you need that they are able to provide.
