PortMiami does not have an on-site fuel depot; instead, it stores barrels of fuel nearby. This privately owned location was recently sold and is expected to build a "large-scale development". As a result, the county administration must look into alternate locations at the port to avoid a fuel crisis.

Among upcoming Carnival itineraries, a solar eclipse sea day viewing will be available on Aug. 2:
Ships are finally able to embark following weather:
Norwegian Cruise Line has implemented changes that have quietly gone into effect, or will be soon, such as a $5 charge for any additional entrees at the main dining room, room service limits, and the More at Sea drink package will not be available at their private island, Great Stirrup Cay. Clues & FAQs
General Q&A:
Is it necessary to carry your passport at ports?
It depends on the port. Some countries require non-citizens to have their passports, and in some, you will only need your government-issued photo ID. Cruise lines are generally informative if stopping at a port where it is required. When in doubt, ask before you get off the ship.
Many people suggest taking a photo or bringing a colored photocopy of your passport and leaving the original in your cabin safe.
This question seemed to result in deeply personal opinions. Most people state they do not bring them off the ship, while others want the peace of mind in the event of an emergency.
Can I bring a portable clothes steamer?
No, it will be confiscated.
Has anyone had any issues since the government shutdown concerning the cruises?
Most said no, especially as they arrive near the port a day or two before embarkation.
A few have had flight delays; however, they have seemed due to airline overbooking or weather delays, or the reason was not disclosed on their posts.
Someone mentioned that some historical sites had been closed due to staffing.
How much and when should we tip our cabin attendant?
Tipping is a hot topic! No matter the posts I've seen, opinions vary greatly.
The pre-paid or per-day charge added to your account is sufficient.
In addition to the pre-paid/per-day charge, the consensus seems to be about $10 per day paid on disembarkation day. I've seen $5 per day extra, and others give a flat $200 at the end.
In addition to the pre-paid/per-day charge, a tip up front when you ask for services/extras, and again at the end.
I was most happy to read the posts stating "whatever you can afford", "whatever you feel is fair", "don't feel bad if you can't tip more/a lot". Providing specific dollar amounts was helpful; however, these posts felt as if they put the poster at ease by not having to be so formal and "correct".
It was also mentioned to tip your main dining room wait staff and anyone else who you feel gave you fantastic service.
Royal Caribbean Q&A:
What do you do on a rainy day at Coco Cay?
Drink and get wet
You're swimming, you're already wet
Find a sheltered bar or restaurant/buffet area, such as in Hideaway Beach
Stay on the ship
Enjoy the casino
Are there any rooms that accommodate 5-6 people?
Discuss with your travel advisor or call Royal directly to reserve, as online only allows you to book 4 to a room.
MSC Q&A:
What is the difference between Gala night and Elegant night dress codes?
Nothing, really. Gala night historically has been more formal attire, such as gowns and tuxes, Elegant would be cocktail. Many people nowadays don't dress up formally, however, some still do and look fabulous!
Is Yacht Club an earned benefit or a paid experience?
Paid.
Virgin Voyages Q&A:
Are you allowed to purchase 1 bar tab and add anyone to it?
Yes, in the app, select "foot the bill" or set it up through Sailor Services.
What is a realistic bid to "win" a higher room level?
Minimum bid has worked for some people; others say to bid just over minimum or to calculate based on what types of rooms are still available.
Where can I watch the big football game on Scarlett Lady in February?
The Social Club
Red Room
Regardless of where you watch, nab a seat early!
